At the time I wrote this song, I
was selling advertising, writing jingles, doing
anything I could to pay the bills. But in my heart,
as I had been praying, I really felt God wanted
me to be a writer and producer. One day I was
about to run out the door, briefcase in hand,
to sell a radio jingle which would have made me
a significant amount of money. I thought, I can
do this for the next forty years and live month
to month, but if I really want to be a writer
and producer, at some point I'm going to have
to sit down at my piano and say, This is what
I'm going to do and although it's not going to
pay the bills today, it may pay the bills in a
year or two.
I put my briefcase down, went upstairs to my writing room and wrote this song:
