I wrote it in the summer of 1995 for the Christmas musical I was writing entitled Emmanuel Has Come. I wrote "Emmanuel Has Come" to share that the real message in Christmas is in the word, Emmanuel, which means God with us. "More than just another story about a special time and place, Christmas is a time to lift a song of praise. For God is with us, and we celebrate the glory of His presence." I wanted to write a song that simply stated that "God with us, Emmanuel has come." |
